Mountain Manager - Craig Clark

We're thrilled to welcome Craig back as Broken River Mountain Manager for the second year! Craig has been working in the ski industry since he was 15. Most recently he has been working at Head Coach of the off-piste programme at Silverstar in Canada, managing a staff of more than 20 instructors. Craig has taught ski instruction at various places around the globe, including Canada, Europe and two seasons at Broken River in 2015 and 2016. He has an honours degree in International Development and is a level 5 pizza maker. When not working Craig likes to be outdoors hiking, climbing and biking. He is also keen on cooking and travelling the world.

Guest Services Supervisor - Amy Smith

Amy is back for a third season at Broken River after falling in love with the club skiing way of life in 2015. Between her seasons at Broken River in 2015 and 2018, Amy travelled through Asia, South Africa and worked in Norway, the UK and England. Amy has a level 4 diploma in accounting and over 5 years experience in various administration and accounting roles.  In her free time Amy enjoys hiking, camping, horse riding, surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and bungy jumping.

Guest Services - Emily Stonehouse

Emily is back for her second year in a row at Broken River and is one of our kiwi staff members.  She has worked in Guest Services at Silverstar in Canada. Emily has a Bachelor in Industrial Design and has worked in a variety of other jobs, including graphic design and sales. When not working Emily enjoys skiing, hiking, travelling and food.

BR Ski School Director John Rudolph

Snow School Director - John Rudolph

We welcome John Rudolph back for a second season at Broken River. John comes from Alta, Utah, USA, where he has been teaching skiing for the past eight inters. He is PSIA certified alpine level 3 and telemark level 1 instructor and specialises in teaching off-piste skiing to intermediate and advanced skiers. John is head coach of a teen freeride programme which concentrates on fall-line skiing in steep double black diamond terrain as well as getting lots of air. In the warmer months, John has worked as an Outward Bound instructor in Oregon, leading teenagers on expeditions whitewater rafting and mountaineering, and as a painter in Salt Lake City, Utah. In his spare time, John is an avid rock climber and ski mountaineer. He also enjoys travelling around in his caravan, climbing and skiing.

Snow Safety Officer - Mackenzie Miller

Mack has been a professional ski patroller for 13 seasons. Much of that time was spent at Alpental Ski Area in Central Cascades, Washington State, USA. For the last two winters he has also worked as an avalanche forecaster for the Washington State Department of Transportation. Mack has a lot of experience as a forecaster in steep, complex terrain in maritime mountains. He is also a trained Emergency Medical Technician. During the summers Mack is a carpenter, mostly working on renovations. In his spare time Mack enjoys skiing, particularly backcountry skiing, as well as playing soccer and doing a bit of woodworking. He is enjoys getting out in the outdoors, following sports and spending time with family and friends.

Ski Patrol - Maxwell Hamlin

Max comes to us with a broad background in the ski industry. He has worked as a ski patroller and participated in snow safety at Powder Mountain in Utah, USA, as well as time as a ski technician and in ski manufacturing. Max is an Outdoor Emergency Care instructor and a trained Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician. When not working, Max enjoys being outdoors skiing, mountain biking and hiking. He loves also to travel and get stuck into a good book.

Chef - Tom Christie

Tom is qualified chef with over 10 years experience but is no stranger to working in snowy environments. He has worked in Courchevel, France, Trysil, Norway  and of course Broken River in 2015 & 2018. We're all looking forward to more of Tom's delicious culinary delights (no pressure Tom!). Tom has worked at some of Adelaide’s top restaurants, and also the UK (including one of Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants in London), France and Norway. Tom is a keen and talented snowboarder. He is also a keen soccer fan and enjoys playing golf, hiking, camping & most adrenaline sports.
