Record Numbers on Telemark Week

It's been a fun-filled and busy Telemark Week with record numbers of telemarkers gathering.
Guests from Australia and all over New Zealand descended on Broken River for the annual BR Telemark Week. It was a fun week with lots of skiing, socialising and catching up. A record number of 15 telemarker attended the three-day Advanced Telemark Skills Course in the latter part of the week. Everyone made great progress under the tutelage of NZSIA Telemark Examiners Marti Smith and Greg McIntyre. Conditions varied from firm to soft-cruisey snow and Allan's Basin provided some great long runs. Highlights off the slopes included the late afternoon "de-briefs" in Palmer Lodge over a BR Lager, the amazing food down in Lyndon Lodge and the laughs. Not too much can be said about the "formerly outrageous" dinner on Thursday night, except that it was certainly a night to remember and the BR dress-up box got a good airing.
