Snow Safety For Youth Course

June 19, 2017 Share on Facebook

The Snow Safety for Youth course is designed for youth who ride at club fields and like to explore challenging terrain. It is important to give our youth the skills to understand the terrain they are riding in to keep them safe on the slopes.

Our one-day course, to be held on July 16th, been specially designed by the course instructor, local expert and internationally certified UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guide Anna Keeling. This course will help ensure our kids don't get complacent about avalanche safety. They'll learn how to assess snow stability and minimise risk when they're exploring the slopes, use an avalanche transceiver, companion rescue techniques and assess whether terrain is safety or an avalanche risk.
