Anne Marie Fitzgerald - Snow School Director
Anne Marie comes to us from Canada and has been working at Kimberley Alpine Resort for the past 5 seasons. She is a Level 2 CSIA certified alpine ski instructor, working towards Level 3, and also holds her Level 1 Canadian Association For Disabled Skiing certicate. Anne Marie discovered skiing at the age of 13 after being gifted a pair of skis from her gym teacher. A six-week ladies ski programme, several years later, inspired Anne Marie to become an instructor. She hasn't looked back and is very passionate about teaching people to ski. Anne Marie follows and practices Ashtanga Yoga and works with a personal trainer/coach year round. When the snow disappears you'll find Anne Marie out on her mountain and road bikes, as well as fitting in some hiking when time allows.
Claire Newell - Telemark Instructor
Claire grew up skiing at Broken River and has many fond memories of sliding around the slopes here. After many years of alpine skiing Claire was introduced to telemarking by her future husband Jim. She has enjoyed the challenge of learning to telemark and is passionate about helping others to enjoy this sport. Claire is a Level 2 NZSIA certified telemark instructor. Off the snow Claire is also the Marketing Manager for Broken River and works part-time as a Plant Ecologist.
Jim Henderson - Telemark Instructor
Jim began alpine skiing in his early 20's at Broken River and started telemark skiing while working for a year at Scott Base in Antartica. He has never looked back and has continued to promote this sport and encourage others in their telemarking. Jim is a Level 2 NZSIA certified telemark instructor. When the boards aren't strapped to his feet, you'll find Jim exploring the mountains on foot and mountain bike, both through work and with the family.
