YOUR ARRIVAL AT BROKEN RIVER

Watch the video below to see what’s involved when you arrive at BR - and you'll also get some instruction on how to ride our rope tows.

The Tyndall Tramway - Alpine Rail

Once you get to the carpark, be prepared for something different! Grab all your ski and overnight gear and step into the Tyndall Tramway with all your friends. Push the "up" button and enjoy a spectacular 4-minute ride up through native beech forest to the Ticket Office and accommodation lodges. Take in the amazing panoramic scenery of the surrounding mountains and Castle Hill Basin, as well as close-up views within the forest.

It's quite a fantastic, unique way to start your day on the slopes - and you won't find a service like this anywhere else in New Zealand. The Tramway is fully certified to carry passengers and runs 8:30am-10:30am and 3:30pm-5:30pm daily during the winter. Read more about the Tyndall Tramway here.

TICKET OFFICE & ACCOMMODATION

At the top of the Tram you’ll find yourself at the Ticket Office where you can purchase lift passes, collect tow belts (required to ride the rope tows, unless you have your own belt or harness) and get a brief introduction to Broken River. If you’re here for more than just the day, our friendly staff will point you in the direction of your accommodation lodge where you can drop your gear and then head up for some riding. Enjoy!

The Ticket Office is open 8:30am-10:30am and 3:30pm-5:30pm daily. Gloves, glove protectors and harnesses can be purchased here.
